Read Websites Strategically
Once I've found a worthwhile website, I read it more closely for specific information. I skim the page, look at the menu listing of topics, view the photos and media, and select topics I think will be useful. THEN, I read that section carefully. Sometimes the key information is in a video or graphic, not the text.
I often use several strategies on one website, or I may just do a quick evaluation and move on. First, I evaluated the Dolphin Adventure website. Then, I wrote a summary of key things I learned. Finally, I had a clarification question, so I added that to my worklog.
Here's my worklog, showing my web evaluation, my summary, and my clarification. Notice how the worklog keeps track of my search? Each entry is like a note card.
