Introduction

We will celebrate Black History Month by exploring websites about Notable African Americans. After conducting research, each student will design 2-3 slides that provide detailed information to be presented in our school wide celebration!

Goals

Students will conduct online research about thier chosen famous African American, then create several powerpoint slides to be used in a class powerpoint presentation. This will also be printed out and published in book form and given to each classroom as a gift from us!

Directions

You will be conducting online research about a notable African American, then create a 3-4 slide powerpoint presentation that will become a part of our class powerpoint to be presented at the Black History Month celebration. We will also create a book out of our powerpoint to give to each classroom.

Students will create 2 -3 slides each that contain information about the notable African American they choose. These powerpoints must include a informational text format, clip art, photos, labels, captions, lists, font etc.

Directions

Now that you have gathered your information about your famous African American, put together 3-4 powerpoint slides to be included in our class project. 1. Design your slides using the HappyRock slide planning graphic organizer. Be sure to use the rubric so you include text organization and tools for teaching. 2. Get your draft checked by Mrs. Lisk or Gladstone! 3. Create your powerpoint slides.
